SCHOLARSHIPS

“To Strengthen our Community Through Education”

The Lo Bello Women’s Association Scholarship Program is intended to assist and encourage students in completing and advancing their college education.

Lo Bello Women’s Association

Lo Bello de San Antonio Women’s Association, a 501(c)3 was founded in July 1993. Amelia Garza is the founder and first President. As a small business owner, she recognized how difficult it is to succeed in business without an education. As a result, she was determined to assist others in obtaining an education so that they would not have to experience some of the obstacles that she had to overcome. The membership consists of business and professional women who volunteer their time and resources.  They continually strive to increase the educational opportunities in the community through fundraising events.

The most recent fundraising initiative is the La Reina Linda Program. La Reina Linda is the Queen to Rey Feo and will represent Lo Bello Women’s Association during the week of Fiesta. Her emphasis during the week of Fiesta will be to visit schools throughout the San Antonio area promoting education.

All proceeds raised from the La Reina Linda program will benefit the Lo Bello Women’s Association Scholarship Program.

Christina is the proud owner of Spanish Grove Academy, where the focus is on educating the mind and nurturing the heart.

At Spanish Grove Academy (SGA), they understand that your child’s education and care are a priority, and choosing the right program is a big decision. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce San Antonio

Since the first day of becoming a member of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, words such as “success” and “satisfaction” do not even begin to express the exposure that the Hispanic Chamber has provided for our business. From social networking events, to having the privilege of congregating with political leaders, the Hispanic Chamber has created opportunities that have allowed Luxury Home Magazine to flourish.

Christina looks at her influence, and her accomplishments on a scale of what she’s overcome. She and her husband Tomas use their life experiences to inspire young men and women to become philanthropists and mentors through their professional and business development courses. They are also the proud owners of Spanish Grove Academy, a Spanish-immersion school located in Stone Oak. Christina sits on the development board for the University of Incarnate Word, while also managing two publications within Luxury Home Magazine – the San Antonio and Austin market.

I'm not sure I've met anyone quite as genuine and honest as Christina. Her character, sense of humor, positive energy, and resourcefulness are exactly what is needed for La Reina Linda!
Congratulations to Christina Martinez! Christina signed the dotted line at Chase Bank making official her journey as a candidate for 2017 La Reina Linda. Christina is the proud owner of Luxury Home Magazine and Spanish Grove Academy. Married to Tomas Martinez, Christina understands education, business and the future of San Antonio.
